Pink Sari Inc (PSI)

Pink Sari Inc (PSI) is a not-for-profit organisation with a strategic priority to lessen the impact of cancer in South Asian/Indian subcontinental communities.

Our activities provide community members with information and support to improve their knowledge and awareness of certain types of cancer and benefits of early detection.

Vision of PSI

To improve the health of the South Asian communities, by providing information to improve their knowledge and ability to lessen the impact of certain types of cancer.

Mission Statement

Engaging with South Asian communities for raising their awareness and improving their knowledge about early detection of some identified common cancers, collaborating with relevant health service providers and agencies to address the culturally appropriate support needs of cancer patients and their carers.

Our History

Pink Sari Inc was founded as an independent organisation on the back of a very successful one-off project – The Pink Sari Project (2014-2016). This project was aimed at raising awareness about Breast Cancer and the need to do regular mammograms for early detection to increase the survival rate of Indian and SriLankan women.

Pink sari Inc flourishes on the strong shoulders of six passionate women. We are inspired and led by our President Shantha Viswanathan who is supported by the PSI team of dedicated volunteer committee members.

We are guided by two motivated advisory members who bring both professional knowledge and personal experience to Pink Sari activities
